Al Meixner's International Showcase
W.M.U.H. - Allentown, PA
91.7 FM Stereo
Saturday Mornings, 10 A.M. to 12 Noon
Now Broadcasting Live on the Internet!!!
Since June of 1981, the International Showcase has been presenting the
best in international folk music and pop tunes as well as all styles of
polka and waltz music. Al Meixner, the creator of the program, has been
the producer and announcer for all but eight years of it's existence.
(For eight years Al worked as a musician for Walt Disney World in
Florida.)
The music of local artists is often broadcast and interviews with local and touring musicians are featured monthly. A weekly bulletin board announces Eastern Pennsylvania dance schedules and social functions of many nationality organizations. Listener dedications and constructive input are always welcomed.
From March of 1998 to November of 2005 Jim Groller, from Allentown, joined Al as a co-host for the show and substitute when Al was touring. Jim is a veteran drummer and his enthusiasm and musical knowledge were a valuable asset to the production of the show. His job scheduling forced him to leave the show in November of 2005 and he is most assuredly missed.
In March of 2000, WMUH entered the world of the internet and now Al Meixner’s International Showcase can be heard around the world – live on the internet every Saturday morning.
